"Around the World with Wölffer" Complimentary Wine Tasting

  • Craft'd 108 West Union Street Morganton, NC, 28655 United States (map)

For over 30 years, Wölffer Estate Vineyard has been known as one of the finest producers on the East Coast. The estate spans approximately 175 acres including the acclaimed 55-acre sustainably farmed vineyard in Sagaponack, NY, as well as 28 acres on the North Fork of Long Island; 200 acres in Mendoza, Argentina; and 2.5 acres in Mallorca, Spain. Hamburg-born international businessman, Christian Wölffer, found a home in 1978 in Eastern Long Island in the heart of the Hamptons when he purchased a 14-acre parcel with a farmhouse surrounded by potato fields; by 1987, he had established his vineyard. The Wölffer wines are known for being food friendly, elegant, and built for longevity.

We will sample:

Rosé 2021 — Aromas of citrus, ripe berry, peach and a hint of sundried grass, like the air in the Argentinian countryside. Made from hand-harvested grapes sourced from the 85-hectare Argentine Estate. Blend: 33% Malbec, 31% Pinot Noir, 9.5% Chenin Blanc, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7.5% Torrontes, 5.5% Semillon, 3% Bonarda, and 1.5% Syrah. 12% ABV.

Mendoza Red 2019 — Aromas of black berries and a rich mouth-feel filled with pure fruit notes, ripe, smooth tannins, soft acidity and a long finish with chalk-like minerality and finesse. Also, made from hand-harvested grapes sourced from the estate in Argentina. Blend: 89% Malbec from Jujan de Cuyo, 11% Torrontes from Altamira, Argentina. 13% ABV.

Dry Rosé Cider — Wölffer No.139 Dry Cider offers an elegant and innovative cider style that pays homage to the bohemian Hamptons lifestyle that inspired its creation. Made from hand-picked apples grown in Bridgehampton, and the highest quality apple orchards in upstate New York, this dry cider has a lively acidity and fresh flavor that makes it a nice year-round pairing choice for a range of dining occasions. 6.9% ABV.
