"Oh, for Oregon!" Complimentary Wine Tasting

  • Craft'd 108 West Union Street Morganton, NC, 28655 United States (map)

In 2006, Brianne Day sold everything she owned and began traveling through wine regions all over the world. She visited 80 different regions, working at wineries in Burgundy, Argentina, Australia, and New Zealand. She re-established her home base in Oregon and worked at a number of wineries including The Eyrie Vineyards and Brooks. Founded by Brianne in 2012, Day Wines is a producer of boutique, artisanal bottlings made from fruit sourced exclusively from a small group of Oregon growers who utilize Biodynamic, Organic and/or Sustainable vineyard practices. Brianne’s goal is “to create distinct expressions of [our] corner of the world.” She focuses on fruit harvested from the esteemed Willamette Valley to exotic varietals found in Southern Oregon’s Applegate Valley AVA.

We will sample:

Dazzles of Light White Blend '21 — A blend of Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc. Generous in fruit and floral character, with incredible acid and flavor development. This wine shows off just ripe stone fruit, juicy mango, lemongrass, cut lawn, springy white blossom, panna cotta, and river stones. 13% ABV. $36.99/$12

Babycheeks Rosé '21 — This Rosé offers a balance of acidity, fruit, and a hint of tannic grip. Different from the typical Oregon rosé, this is a blend of thicker-skinned, warm-climate varietals: 41% Malbec, 30% Tannat, and 29% Cabernet Franc. Notes of underripe strawberry, rose, almond, wet stone, yellow cherry, yellow plum, pink apple all with floral sensibility. Crisp and structured. 12% ABV. $34.99/$11

Deep Blue WV Pinot Noir ‘21 — 100% Pinot Noir from seven different biodynamic vineyards in the Willamette Valley: Cassin, Roshni, Johan, Momtazi, Nemarniki, Finnigan Hill and Claygate. The vineyards and barrels were selected for their deeper blue and black fruit attributes, as well as their lush and silky textures. Think blueberry pie with baking spices, unsweetened cocoa powder, dark cherry, black raspberries, and summer in a conifer forest. The use of 30% whole clusters gives the wine its tannic structure; the ample acid shows promise for aging prospects. A portion of the sales from Deep Blue are donated to organizations who promote the restoration of our oceans. 13% ABV. $42.99/$14
