Introducing two wines from Hook & Ladder and a fan fave from Leese-Fitch. We will be tasting:
Hook & Ladder Sauvignon Blanc 2019 -- Sauvignon Blanc demands a cooler climate that will allow the distinctive flavors of the grape to mature and develop. The Sauvignon Blanc grapes come from the 18-year-old vines on the winery property in the heart of the Russian River Valley. Half of this Sauvignon Blanc was cold fermented slowly in a stainless steel tank; the other half was fermented in their five best neutral French oak barrels for added complexity and softer mouth feel. The two halves were combined and then hand-bottled at the winery. This wine has good acidity and a lengthy finish.
Leese-Fitch Firehouse Red 2017 -- Aromatics of blackberry cobbler, vanilla, cassis and hints of toasted sage. On the palate, dark black fruits – blackberry, black cherry, and dried blueberry with hints of tart pomegranate and sweet leather. The finish showcases mocha chocolate, toasted coconut, dried cherry, cardamom and a touch of Mexican oregano.
Hook & Ladder Third Alarm Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 -- This single-vineyard Cab is aged for up to 17 months in a combination of European and American oak. The wine contains a small amount of Merlot, also from the Los Amigos ranch. Deep purple garnet in color, exhibits bright aromas of cherry raspberry, vanilla and cinnamon spice. Well-rounded flavors of leather, herbs, spice and currants are complemented by a cherry finish. The rich flavor and deep character of this balanced wine displays well-developed tannins which pair well with a multitude of dishes, or can cellared for many years.
