"Surveying Séptima!!" Complimentary Tableside Wine Tasting

  • Craft'd 108 West Union Street Morganton, NC, 28655 United States (map)

We are featuring Bodega Séptima wines from Argentina!

With more than four centuries of experience in Europe, the Raventós Codorníu family sought to expand to the New World. In 1999, they found Mendoza, Argentina, in the foothills of the Andes Mountains and 1050 meters above sea level, and began winemaking in their SEVENTH (in Spanish, “septima”) winery. It is a winery committed to its origin. It was built using the ancestral dry-stonewall system, a building technique used by the local Huarpes (which makes the winery thermally insulated, and creates the perfect temperature to produce wine through a natural and sustainable procedure).

Chardonnay 2015 – Fresh delicate fruit aromas with peach, pineapple and melon. On the palate, it is refined and full-bodied with citrus and stone fruit (apricot and peach) in perfect harmony and good length. Pleasant and refined on the palate.

Malbec 2018 – Clean, bright red with vivid purple shades. Strong, well-defined aromas of plum, blueberry and mulberry, alongside refined floral notes what provide varietal typicity and complexity. Refreshing on the palate, with young, soft and sweet tannins. Well-structured, well rounded, with a pleasant finish.

Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 – Deep ruby red with mahogany shades. Complex and spicy. Includes roasted pepper notes, plums and a hint of fruit jam, with minerals such as graphite. Toasted aroma with coffee and vanilla notes. Elegant entrance, with sweet and powerful tannins. Well-structured and nice finish with the presence of smoky oak wood.

ALSO, we have a VERY limited quantity of the Grand Reserva Red Blend 2016 – A blend of Malbec (62%), Cabernet Sav (22%), and Tannat (16%), this is the winery’s icon wine. It is the result of over ten years' research and requires at least five years to make, with over two years of in new oak barrels. Aromas of fresh fruit, flowers, red pepper, mint, and raspberry and blueberry jam. Roasted nuts, caramel and cassis. (Note: we will not be sampling this, but it is available for purchase.)

Complimentary, as always. Tastings are tableside; c'mon in when you're ready.

Due to COVID-19, occupancy is limited, but we do our very best to accommodate everyone.

Feel free to bring snacks/dinner with you, but please dispose of your own trash (there is a garbage can at the back entrance).
