Spring Fling with Chamisal Complimentary Tableside Wine Tasting

  • Craft'd 108 West Union Street Morganton, NC, 28655 United States (map)

Chamisal Vineyards was the first to plant vineyards in the Edna Valley. It has been SIP-certified (Sustainability in Practice) since 2010. Because of its east-west orientation so close to the Pacific Coast, the Edna Valley is one of the coolest appellations in California. its long, temperate growing season gives the grapes plenty of time to ripen on the vine — typically several weeks longer than warmer growing regions. This extended hangtime allows cool-climate grapes like Chardonnay to develop deep, rich flavors and fruit intensity.

We will taste:

Chamisal Stainless Chardonnay 2019, $17.99/$7
Aromas Lime zest, green apple, passionfruit and a light floral note. The palate showcases the ability of a chardonnay to be crisp but retain opulence without the influence of oak with a surprisingly round entry followed by long, linear acidity. The finish is clear with a hint of salinity. Taut and nervy in style, showing good clarity and repeating citrus fruit character on the nicely persistent finish. Drinking window: 2021 - 2024.

Chamisal Monterey Chardonnay 2017, $19.99/$8
Toasted oak and crème brûlée. Fruit driven with lemon cream, Fuji apple, ripe pineapple, and baked pears. Broad and creamy aromas are cut by lemon juice and crushed chalk on the nose. Rich and creamy with lingering acidity, broad texture and finishing clean.

Chamisal San Luis Obispo Pinot Noir 2019, $26.99/$10
Elegant aromas of lavender, rose petal, tart cranberry skin, pomegranate and mint. Flavors of raspberry and more pomegranate grace the palate, with light touches of flowers, licorice and gamy meat completing the experience.
