Virtual Wine Tasting: Homage to South Africa

South African wines offer impressively good value, and feature styles and tastes that are food friendly, blending elegance and power. South Africa has been producing wine since the first vines were planted in the 17th century, brought by the Dutch governors of Cape Colony.

We will sample:

The Raats Chenin Blanc just got 91 points from Wine Advocate. Super delicious, it’s unoaked and clean but with a little weight, texture, and minerality. A little bit like a Chablis. $14.99

Kanonkop Kadette is a red blend that’s a great intro to South African red wine. Cabernet, Merlot, and Pinotage primarily, made by a real flagship SA winery. $15.99

We will be joined by Zingo Munger, the southeastern US regional rep for Cape Classics, the leading importer of South African wine (and Wine & Spirits importer of the year last year).

VWT via Zoom; we will send the link (no account necessary).

We also will have a VWT on May 1 where we will sample two Cabernet Sauvignons and are continuing to offer 20% off all four bottles. Phone orders and curbside pickup available, 828.438.8400.
