The name Elouan means “good light”, which is reflective of the typically cool summers, yet abundant sunshine found in Oregon in the northern hemisphere’s premiere wine-growing region. The unique climate, diversity of soil types, and gentle sunlight form the foundation of this wine’s northern character. Combine this with the talents of Joe Wagner, is a fifth-generation Napa Valley winemaker whose passion and natural talent for winemaking quickly became apparent when, at the age of 19, he created his own award-winning single-vineyard Pinot Noir label, Belle Glos. In 2014, Joe formed Copper Cane Wine & Provisions, and Elouan was born. We will sample:
Elouan Chardonnay 2020 — Opens with aromas of citrus and white pear accompanied by notes of violet and apricot. Pale straw yellow in color, this Chard has bright and lively acidity with rich flavors of tropical fruit, lemon and juicy nectarine. Elouan Rose 2021 — Salmon pink with shimmery copper highlights. Fragrant aromas of peach, lychee, cantaloupe, and sweet raspberry. Bright and lively on the palate with flavors of ripe pear, strawberry shortcake, stone fruit, and subtle notes of kiwi and orange blossom. This wine has a well-balanced mouth-feel that dances on the palate and is elevated with bright and lively acidity. 13% ABV. $21.99/7.50
