We will sample:
Riesling 2020 — A blend of grapes from you and old vines are picked at multiple levels of ripeness and flavor development to produce a complex and dynamic wine with balanced acidity. Bright fresh citrus (lemon, mandarin orange, lime sherbet, grapefruit) and tropical aromas (green papaya, lychee, pineapple), as well as hints of honeydew, pear, apple, quince, apricot, and floral and savory notes of honeysuckle, rose, bay leaves, sage, and tarragon. The wine initially provides lively energy showing a rich texture, noticeable salinity, and notes of the same abundant fruits that greeted the nose. The palate has lovely, mouth-watering acidity balanced by a touch of well-integrated residual sweetness, making it off-dry rather than sweet. $18.99/$7.50
Pinot Gris 2019 — A blend made up of fruit from more than 30 vineyards across Oregon, from the Willamette Valley to the high mountain river valleys of the Rogue and Umpqua AVAs (American Viticultural Areas*). These different sites together provide an orchestra of flavors, aromatics and textures. The wine is refreshing and lithe on the palate. Aromas of Meyer lemon, lemon verbena, tangerine, apricot, peach, apple, pear, quince, melon and honeysuckle add a hint of sweetness to the air around it. Versatile at the dinner table with flavors of golden apple, roasted coconut, citrus and pineapple. Rating: 90, Wine Enthusiast. $19.99/$7.50
Pinot Noir 2018 — A to Z Oregon Pinot Noir has twice been named to Wine Spectator's Top 100 wines of the year. A vibrant, complex nose opens with floral, stone fruit and berry aromas (rose petal, violet, pomegranate, plum cherry, raspberry, black currant, boysenberry) that deepen with spice and wood notes (cinnamon, white pepper, thyme, vanilla, cedar, sandalwood, chocolate). Gentle oak aging adds definition supporting a delicious, harmonious balance between tannin, acid and fruit. $22.99/$8
* An American Viticultural Area, or AVA, is a specific vineyard zone based on geography and climate. To use the AVA name on bottle labels, federal rules say at least 85% of grapes used to make the wine must come from within the area boundary.
We are doing a combination of tableside and barside, depending on your party size! C’mon in when you’re ready. Please continue to select and sit at a table that matches your party size so that we can accommodate everyone.
As always, feel free to bring snacks/dinner with you, but please dispose of your own trash (there is a garbage can at the back entrance of the store). AND, don’t forget the newly opened cheese shop, St. Lucio’s Gourmet and Cheese. They are introducing new cheeses regularly.
Thanks y’all, see you Friday!!
