We’ve got three diverse wines lined up:
Vietti Roero Arneis 2020 — 100% Arneis. In 1967 Alfredo Currado, enologist and owner of the Vietti winery in the mid-20th century, was the first to re-introduce Arneis during a time when the grape was being abandoned due to its difficult nature or was often used for blending. The grapes are sourced from vineyards located in the heart of the Roero area. The wine is straw yellow color with fresh floral, citrus and melon aromas and hints of almond. Dry, medium-bodied wine with crisp acidity. Well-balanced, elegant with good complexity and a lingering finish. 13.5% ABV. $27.99/$10
Santi Solane Valpolicella Ripasso 2017 — Carlo Santi established a wine cellar in Illasi, near Verona and Lake Garda. The original winery, now renovated, still houses the winemaking facilities and aging cellar and stands on the plain below Castello d'Illasi, a ruined medieval fortress. The wine is an intense ruby color; on the aroma, hints of fresh red fruit and maraschino jam, wrapped in vanilla. The taste is warm and balanced, with an elegant spicy and toasted bottom. A long finish. Great and pleasant when young, it improves over time. 14% ABV. $21.99/$8
Tenuta La Piccola Nero di Cio Lambrusco 2017 — The Nero di Cio is Tenuto La Piccola’s first wine and is dedicated to Fontana Licinio (called Cio), who had the idea of creating the winery. His portrait, reproduced on the label, was painted by the contemporary painter Lino Frongia and belongs to the Fontana family's private collection. This sparkling wine is a blend: 20% Lambrusco Salamino, 35% Lambrusco Maestri, 25% Malbo Gentile, and 20% Ancellotta. Ruby red with purple hues; aromas of blackberry, plum and cherry, fresh tasty. Soft with balanced acidity; medium dry. 12.5% ABV. $16.99/$7
