"Pretty in Pink" Complimentary Tableside Rosé Tasting

  • Craft'd 108 West Union Street Morganton, NC, 28655 United States (map)

Rosé season is upon us so let’s taste three that are brand new to the store:

Finca Wolffer Rosé 2020, Sagaponack, New York — Shiny light rose in color. Ripe fruit of pears, baked apple and fresh hay fills the glass. The mouth-feel is elegant and vibrant with refreshing acidity and is beautifully balanced with wonderful layers of clean fruit. There is a classic flinty minerality and a savory long dry finish. It is an amazingly versatile partner to pair with food. Owned by Hamburg(Germany)-born Christian Wölffer, the 55-acre winery, located between Southampton to the west and Easthampton to the east, is at once an American winery but with a decidedly European character, both in its spirit and its wines. The winery currently produces 13,000 cases annually. $18.99/$7

Brunn Blauer Zweitgelt Rosé 2019, Niederosterreich, Austria — 100% estate-grown Blauer Zweigelt. Bright pink in color and lively in the glass. Crisp with notes of strawberry and raspberry on the palate, and lovely notes of lilies on the nose. Winemaker Karl Steinschaden and his family are dedicated to traditional practices, completing the harvest 100% by hand in small cases. The old estate vines produce low yield with very high-quality grapes. The character of the wine is defined by the soil of the vineyard and the climate of the region. An optimal climate leads to wines of elegance while preserving the unique flavors of the grapes. $20.99/$8

Valdo Floral Rosé Brut, Italy — Vino Spumante from Veneto and Sicily in the northern part of Italy. Fresh and elegant with concentrated notes of raspberry and flowers. Fine perlage with a pleasant round, charming aromas of red and black berries. Three months Charmat ageing, followed by at least two months in the bottle. Nerello Mascalese – the predominant varietal in the blend (75%) – comes from vineyards approximately 1000 feet above sea level on the lower slopes of the Etna volcano in Sicily. Glera (25%), the grape varietal of Prosecco, comes from vineyards in the Veneto. $20.99/$8
