BOO(gle)! It's a Halloween Candy and Wine Pairing!

BOO (it’s Bogle)!! Who’s ready for some Halloween fun? Let’s sample four amazing wines from Bogle and add a little twist!

The Bogle family has been farming in the Clarksburg, CA, region for six generations, and has been making wine for 50 years. The winery was named Wine Enthusiast’s American Winery of the Year in 2019.

Here’s what we’re pairing:

Bogle Sauvignon Blanc/Skittles — Skittles can be overly sweet with awesome fruity flavors which is why it needs a dry wine that will cut through all of the sweetness. Sauvignon Blanc is perfect because it will tone down the Skittles and complement the fruitiness.

Bogle Rosé/Gummy Worms — Gummy worms can taste plain after a few, which is why pairing them with a Rosé will give variety to your taste buds. The red fruit flavors of the Rose will enhance more of the fruit flavors in the gummy worms. The acid in the wine will give your tongue just the kick it needs to fully enjoy the gummy worms.

Bogle Merlot/Reeses PB Cups — Reese’s is a blend of sweet and salty perfection: sugar from the chocolate and salty from the peanut butter. Peanut butter can be a little fatty too, which is why a slightly tannic Merlot with complementary aromas such as cherry and chocolate pairs wonderfully with Reese’s.

Bogle Cabernet Sauvignon/Snickers — Snickers is a complex candy with peanuts, caramel, nougat, and chocolate which is why you will need something equally as complex to draw out each of the flavors in the candy. Cabernet Sauvignon has notes of dark fruits which contrast the saltiness of the peanuts as well as complement the sugariness of the chocolate.

The cost of the pairing is $10.00 per person and includes a 2.5oz pour of each wine and fun-size candy. We will donate $1.00 from each tasting purchased to Southmountain Children and Family Services. In addition, all wines are normally $16.99 per bottle, but are on special for $12.99!!

Tasting will be tableside; c’mon in when you’re ready. Please note: seating is limited due to COVID-19 precautions, but we will do our best to accommodate everyone. Masks are required upon entering the store and until you are seated. Please put your mask back on if you need to get up.

Feel free to bring snacks/dinner with you, but please dispose of your own trash (there is a garbage can at the back entrance).

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
