Rootstock Cellars works with winemakers in California, Argentina, and Spain. The Block & Tackle label has been produced for 10 years. Block & Tackle refers to the wooden pulley system which was used to load wine barrels and goods on and off ships.
Block & Tackle Pinot Noir 2019 — 100% Pinot Noir from cool climate appellations of California’s Central Coast. Medium-bodied wine with juicy acidity. Nose shows some earthy notes with a burst of aggregate fruits and violets. Raspberry and blackberry follow through on the pallet with soft tannins and higher acidity. Block & Tackle Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 — A lush, velvety Cab with a splash of Petite Sirah. Hearty, full bodied and fruit forward with cleansing acidity. It opens brightly with notes of black currant and cedar, and finishes with soft blackberry. Balanced, velvety tannins make for a silky finish that combine with an earthy note in the wine. Block & Tackle Proprietor’s Reserve Red Blend 2017 — 100% Napa Merlot! Full bodied and voluptuous wine. The tannins are lush and mouth coating, while the nose is full of dark fruits, plum and blueberry, with some floral violet notes. The pallet is dominated by dark fruits, cocoa, tobacco, and soft vanilla from French Oak. Best paired with braised meats and hard aged cheeses. $32.99/$13
