In 1901, Leoncio Arizu, a fourth-generation viticulturist in Europe, came to Argentina from Spain and settled in Mendoza. When he got to know Luján de Cuyo, he became enthusiastic about this new place that reminded him of his homeland and he began to plant vineyards with vines of European origin. Luigi Bosca was born. In 1989, it became the first winery in the region to achieve DOC status. This was a critical moment in Mendoza's history, and the beginning of Lujan becoming known as the "Land of Malbec". Luigi Bosca Chardonnay 2019 — Golden yellow color with core aromas of pear and apple accompanied by expressive hints of linden blossom, ginger, and creamed corn. Notes of honey and toasted bread. A subtle hint of vanilla due to ageing in French oak casks. A blend of Uco Valley terroirs 30% aged in third-use barrels. Well balanced with a lean complexion and a flavorsome, refreshing finish. Luigi Bosca Pinot Noir 2018 — Sourced from vines that average 45 years. Grapes are hand harvested and meticulously sorted and destemmed. Fermentation occurs at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks followed by 12 months aging in new and second use French oak. The wine is lightly filtered prior to bottling. Bright ruby red color. Full-bodied, fresh, fruity, velvety. Aromas of red fruit, strawberry, violet and chocolate. Vigorous, attractive, forceful and elegant. 13% ABV. $24.99/$8.50
Luigi Bosca SV DOC Malbec 2019 — Sourced from vines that average 70 years. Grapes are hand harvested and meticulously sorted and destemmed upon arrival at the winery. Fermentation occurs at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks followed by 14 months aging in new and second use French oak. The wine is lightly filtered prior to bottling. Medium- to full-bodied with aromas of Intense violet color with aromas of blueberries, bark, and purple flowers. Spiced, with mocha and blackberry hints. Gracefully sweet with a persistent, delicate perfume and an elegant structure. Creamy, fine tannins and fresh acidity frame a juicy core of blue fruit. Drink now or hold. 14% ABV.
