Please join us on our next Virtual Wine Tasting, as we gather remotely to celebrate two wines from France:
Figuiere Mediterranee Rosé 2019 —
A provencal-style rosé. The producer is in Provence (and makes higher-end offerings that are appellated Provence). The wine tastes like Provence, but as the price of Provence fruit has gone up lately, the appellation for this one is Mediterrannee, so some grapes come from a little outside the Provence designation. The 2019 came in a few weeks back and is drinking very well. $14.99
Chateau de Saint Cosme Les Deux Albion Cotes du Rhone 2017 —
The big brother of the Cotes du Rhone we did for Part 1 of our two-part French Wine Series back in early March. This fifteenth-generation vintner is based in Gigondas and makes Chateauneuf du Pape, too. Big, spicy, Grenache blend. Great value for the wine. $24.99
We will be joined by David Faulkner from Craft + Estate. Born and raised in New Zealand, David moved to Spain and then Scotland before getting recruited to NC to play college golf. He worked in fine dining restaurants while in college and after graduation managed wine stores/restaurants and then was a wine rep for four years. He has been the Craft + Estate (Wine Importers) Mid-Atlantic Regional Manager for over 11 years.
Craft + Estate offers a portfolio of fine wines imported from Austria, Greece, France and artisanal Japanese sake. The company is guided by the belief that quality is the result of passion, talent and terroir. Representing centuries-old producers and modern visionaries, Craft + Estate invites discovery and guarantees a memorable experience. "We select only those producers whose philosophy, and willingness to push boundaries, speak through every bottle they make."
