Exploring Elouan Complimentary Tableside Wine Tasting

  • CRAFT'D INC 108 W UNION ST MORGANTON United States (map)

In 2001, fifth-generation Napa winemaker, Joseph Wagner (yes, THAT family) took his knowledge to the renowned Pinot Noir region of Oregon and formed Copper Cane Wine & Provisions. The goal was to produce Pinot Noir with depth of flavor, vibrancy and suppleness. The name Elouan means “good light”, which is reflective of the typically cool summers, yet abundant sunshine found in this northern hemisphere winegrowing region. The unique climate, diversity of soil types and the gentle sunlight influence on both canopy and fruit, form the foundation of this wine’s northern character.

We will be sampling:

Chardonnay 2018 — An abundant floral aroma of acacia blossoms and rose petals accompanied by citrus and white pear. Pale straw yellow in color, this Chardonnay has bright acidity with very light oak followed by flavors of tropical fruit, lime zest and a touch of nectarine. This wine has a smooth and well-balanced mouth-feel, with a lingering and bright finish.

Rosé 2019 — A bespoke rosé where grapes were grown and harvested with the specific intention of making rosé; and not a saignée rosé, which can be a by-product of making red wine. This wine should be enjoyed very well chilled.

Pinot Noir 2017 — a dark scarlet color, with aromas of dried cherries and blackberry, high fruit notes with hints of vanilla and clove spice. The flavors are structured and balanced with bright red raspberry and cherry, boysenberry jam fill the palate, complemented by subtle notes of white pepper. Full bodied this Pinot Noir is complex with a smooth lingering finish.

All wines are very reasonably priced at $19.99 per bottle.
