“The hands that work the soil feed the soul.”
There’s something special about wines from South Africa and we are excited to try three from Fairvalley Winery:
Sauvignon Blanc 2019 — an attractive floral element upfront on the nose is supported by ripe notes of guava, pineapple and mango. The medium-weight palate offers enough cut to counter the fruity richness, while brisk, refreshing citrus flavors carry the close.
Chenin Blanc 2019 — An unoaked wine offering charming tropical fruit notes with a hint of pear flavor. Pleasingly rounded with pineapple/melon hints on the finish.
Pinotage 2017 — Bright red color in the glass, with vanilla and cherry aromas on the nose. The palate is medium bodied with blackberries, wild raspberries; coffee flavors and well balance oak finish.
All wines are very reasonably priced at $12.99 per bottle.
Fairvalley wines are all crafted by the Fairvalley Workers Association with profits from the sale of the wines going directly toward developing homes on the Fairvalley Farm. The logo of the hands on the label symbolizes the need to work with the earth. All grapes are sourced from Fairview’s Citrusdal farms which are all Fairtrade Certified.
